About Fake Air Jordan 1
There is no doubt that the fake air jordan 1 is one of the greatest shoes in history. Over the past 37 years, the Jordan 1 has started sneaker's greatest legend in its own right and changed the footwear industry forever. During that time, almost everyone was wearing basketball shoes. More importantly, fake jordan 1 is the beginning of the Jordan brand, cheered and loved by countless sneaker fans. However, it's not as simple as you might think. While the fake air jordan 1 is arguably the most iconic sneaker of all time, it wasn't one of Michael Jordan's favorites.
Fake Air Jordan 1 History
In the summer of 1984, the young Michael Jordan fell in love with Adidas and wanted to sign him. But Adidas was not interested in expanding its product range into basketball at that time, which made Jordan so displeased that he finally decided to meet Nike. The Nike brand showed him a video of Jordan apparel and shoes with various Airs. Brands offered products for him to wear, but Nike was willing to build something bigger around Jordan himself. He eventually signed with Nike, accepting a $500,000 package that would get him his signature shoe - the later fake air jordan 1.
In October 1984, Jordan wore the black and red Nike Air Ship to his first NBA preseason game. Michael continued to play in the shoe during the preseason, but switched to the white/red colorway of the Nike Airship shortly afterward. Before the NBA All-Star Game, Michael Jordan began wearing the fake air jordan 1 in a white-dominated "Chicago" colorway, but again caught the league's attention when he donned a black/red fake air jordan 1 in the 1985 NBA Slam Dunk Contest .
The NBA's uniform policy at the time stated that shoes had to be predominantly white or black and consistent with the rest of the team. In February 1985, the league sent a letter to Nike, prohibiting Jordan from wearing shoes in violation of the rules. Nike ran a fantastic ad campaign around the theme of "prohibited".
The fake air jordan 1 debuted at the end of March 1985 for $64.99. While it may seem relatively inexpensive today, it was one of the most expensive basketball shoes on the market at the time. It was designed by Peter C. Moore and incorporates elements from other Nike shoes. The side heel panel features the signature Air Jordan "Wings" logo. In May 1985, Nike planned to sell 100,000 pairs in its first year.
With Jordan's on-court dominance, his impressive display at All-Star Weekend wearing the white/black/red "Chicago" and black/red Jordan 1, and the intense focus on the shoe in Nike advertising, the Air Jordan line has cemented its place in sneaker legend.
Fake Air Jordan 1 Design
The fake air jordan 1 features supple leather, a large Nike Swoosh and embellishments, and the Wings logo is a defining design detail. The winged logo drawn by designer Moore on the back of the napkin is a combination of Jordan and Nike. "Air Jordan" emblazoned on the winged basketball celebrates Michael's athleticism and Nike's Air Technology.
But things didn't go well at first, as Jordan wasn't happy with the design, saying he would look ridiculous on the court. Over time, Jordan changed his mind, and eventually he took to the court wearing the fake air jordan 1, catching the attention of early sneakerheads.
The Air Jordan 1 comes in a variety of colorways, making it a fresh take on the court. But some Chicago-themed versions were dropped, and Nike offered the Jordan a variety of color options, such as “Bred,” “Chicago,” and “Black Toe,” but Nike also released some non-Chicago versions.
